Everyone has pretty much heard of the acai berry by now, but not many know much about where this Amazon Acai Berry comes from. It was discovered in Brazil a very long time ago actually and the residents of the rainforests or near by would eat them all the time. It was just recently brought to the United States in supplement form, and in foods, and as soon as people learned about the powerful benefits of this fruit, they couldn’t get enough of it! Scientists have run many tests on this fruit and have confirmed it’s powerful antioxidant and vitamin (and amino acids) rich properties. It grows on the top of palm trees in the Brazilian rainforests, but has a very short shelf life so it cannot be sold fresh outside Brazil.
